We are absolutely delighted to announce that we won the award for “Customer Service Recognition” at last night’s British Renewable Energy Awards hosted by the Renewable Energy Association (REA). Team Tonik got their glad rags on for the UK’s most prestigious renewable energy and clean technology awards; heading down from our Birmingham office to the event which was being held at The Savoy, London.
The award for Customer Service Recognition celebrates an energy supplier delivering customer service excellence or innovation whilst adding value to their customers. At Tonik, we believe that excellent customer service goes beyond just call centre statistics. We are committed to adding value to our members through our interactions, our propositions and our member benefits. We are investing in game-changing innovations that will create a greener, cleaner future, and change the role of the energy supplier in the years ahead. In fact, we don’t have customers, we have members... because they are all part of a movement, a genuine change in the energy market rather than just a transaction each month.
However, to deliver this service excellence, we need the right people, with the right skills and more importantly the right attitude. This award is as much a celebration of our people as it is of our service excellence – we couldn’t have one without the other.
Martin Wright, Chair of the Renewable Energy Association said, “The judges were impressed with the entry being told through the eyes of ‘Emily’ the team manager, this personal approach – a key to great customer service and storytelling – really stood out.”
He continued, “Our industry is now a world leader and I congratulate these companies for their extraordinary achievements in working hard to grow Britain’s green economy, they have energised their workforces and set a truly exceptional example we can all be proud of.”
Hosting the night was Cathy Newman, presenter for Channel 4 News, and the award was presented to Tonik by REA’s Toyin Owadayo along with Philip Selwood, Chief Executive at the Energy Saving Trust. We were represented by Emily Cartwright (the Emily who wrote the entry!), several members of our member services team and Laurence Goldberg, Finance Director.
Our Operations Director, Simon Perkins, summarises how we all feel at Tonik pretty well, “I am so incredibly proud of the team, and all the work that they have put in. It really is very well deserved. We faced some tough competition, so it is great to be recognised by the REA for our achievements.”
