Last month we announced that our parent company, RETIG Ltd, had acquired The Phoenix Works (the trading name for Phoenix Renewables). What’s really great about this is that we’ve been working with The Phoenix Works since early 2017 in developing, selling and installing integrated solar, battery and EV solutions; so we know we work well together.
"A new energy age is just around the corner, and we want to be there, leading the charge, facing it head on."
At Tonik, we’ve got really ambitious plans, and if we have any chance of making them a reality we need to work with likeminded people. People who think the same things are important - things like delivering a high-quality, customer-focused, renewable future for the UK. And that’s what we’ve found in The Phoenix Works. From the very beginning, it was clear we had a lot in common - we share the goal of driving the uptake of renewable technologies to tackle both climate change and fuel poverty. Together we plan to integrate smart technologies into our customer offering, rather than look to add installation services as a bolt on.
Our partnership with The Phoenix Works strengthens our commitment to halving our members’ energy bills by 2022, but that can only be done with the right technology solutions in place, and the right infrastructure. And we believe that this acquisition puts us in the best position to make that happen. Tonik and Phoenix are now more closely aligned than ever; we believe there is a massive opportunity to unlock genuine value and carbon savings for customers. Where people can take control of both their energy bills and their carbon footprint by deploying renewable, distributed energy solutions.
"We are optimistic about the future because we’ve seen the technology, we know what is possible."
The Phoenix Works, was founded in 2010 by Thomas Newby and Matthew Morgan. They’re based in Leeds, and have a team of more than 20 skilled specialists who are passionate about deploying renewable technologies nationwide in both homes and businesses. They’ve built up a strong reputation for delivering quality products and technical excellence, combined with exceptional customer service. The team has broad experience in a wide range of clean-tech solutions, from residential solar and battery storage systems, to public electric vehicle charging networks. And as if that wasn’t enough, they are also Solar Power Portal award winners and are accredited Which? Trusted Traders.
So we really do think that they are the perfect partners for us, and we can’t wait to get started. A new energy age is just around the corner, and we want to be there, leading the charge, facing it head on. We are optimistic about the future because we’ve seen the technology, we know what is possible.
